Using the YouTube BBcode, you can post videos that are on YouTube.com in message board posts.

In order to do this, you can either type the BBcodes by hand or you can use the button located in the posting screen.

Find a video on YouTube.com that you would like to share with the group.

Every video will have two sets of code next to it. One is labeled URL and the other is labeled Embed. You want to copy the code in the URL box. See the example below:

Paste that code between the youtube /youtube tags like this:
Code:
[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JKJXWO6yF8[/youtube]

and the video will then be embedded in your post, like this:

Link

Enjoy!!!

Bob,

Is there a way to post you tube videos in the Garage area or with your Quarter mile times?

Hi Mike --

That is a great idea, but with the way that the Garage script is written, the information in the text areas does not run through the main BBcode parser. To add that capability would require a lot of rewriting of the core code.

There is a new version of the garage software in development. I have downloaded a beta version in its current state, and installed in a test site on my local server, but really have not yet tested all the features. When I get some time, I'll take a closer look at it to see if the text input areas support BBcode.
